BOARDMAN, Ohio —
Rose Marie Sagulla Wasilchak of Hartford, went to her heavenly home Monday (12-30-12) from Hospice of the Valley, Boardman, Ohio, with her family at her side. She was 93.
Mrs. Wasilchak was born Dec. 19, 1919, in Jackson Center, Mercer County, a daughter of George and Antonia Krouse Sagulla.
Along with her husband, Henry, she owned and operated an organic farm where they sold chickens, eggs and a variety of vegetables, as well as growing roses and other flowers.
She was an active member of Hartford Community Church, where she assisted in running its food ministry.
She loved to dance and was a member and past president of the Shenango Valley Sashayers, a popular local western square dance club.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry J. Wasilchak, whom she married Jan. 30, 1947. Henry passed away May 12, 2005.
She is survived by: her two sons, Ronald J. Wasilchak, Sharon; and Henry P. Wasilchak and his wife Colleen, Youngstown; two granddaughters, Stacy Koontz, Dallas, Texas; and Jennipher Carter, Youngstown; and two great-grandchildren. She also leaves her sister, Pauline Sagulla; and brother, Joseph Sagulla, both Jackson Center.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.
