Harold B. "Bud" McKee, East Lackawannock Township, died at 3:57 p.m. Saturday (12-29-12) in Countryside Convalescent Home, East Lackawannock Township. He was 87.
He was born June 14, 1925, in Clintonville to James D. and Emma Grace (McMillen) McKee.
He attended the former Clintonville High School.
From 1946 to 1948, he served as a technical sergeant in the Army Ordnance Corps in Korea.
He married Phyllis A. Snyder in 1979. She survives.
He retired with 34 years of service in the maintenance department of the former Sharon Steel Corp., Farrell.
He was a member of Bethany Presbyterian Church, Mercer, attending the Kappa Chi Sunday school class.
He was a fan of the Mercer Mustangs and the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a stepdaughter, Robin Isabel Bell and her husband Wade, Mercer; a son, Ricky McKee and his wife Lou Ann, Mercer; three stepsons, William Snyder and his wife Nancy, Mercer; Harry Jay Snyder and his wife Kathy, Elgin, Ill.; and Samuel R. Snyder and his wife Dina, Mercer; two sisters, Lucinda McKee and Peggy Mears, both Franklin; and 12 Contributed
Air Force Lt. Col. Ryan M. Elliot has assumed command of the 435th Construction and Training Squadron, Ramstein Air Base, Germany. Elliot has served in the military for 18 years. He is the son of George and Rebekah B. Elliot of Arnold Palmer Drive, Grove City. His wife, Elizabeth Elliot, is the daughter of Elias and Jewel W. Pigford of Robins Avenue, St. Pauls, N.C. Elliot graduated in 1990 from Grove City High School and received a bachelor of science in 1994 from Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburg, Pa. He also earned a master of science in 1999 from the University of South Carolina, Columbia, S.C.grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Zenna Snyder and Jane Coyer; and five brothers, Paul, Park, Merle, James and Reed McKee.
Calling hours were Tuesday (1-1-13) in Andrew J. Vana Funeral Home, Hadley.
Funeral services were Tuesday in the funeral home, with the Rev. Rick Vogeley, pastor of Bethany Presbyterian Church, officiating.
Burial in Hadley Cemetery.
