JEFFERSON TWP —
Raymond John Walker of South Lake Road, Jefferson Township, died Thursday, Sept. 27, 2012, at his residence. He was 80.
Born Feb. 26, 1932, in Grove City, he was a son of Dewey Marshall Walker and Ethel M. Ifft Walker.
On June 10, 1955, he married Dorothy E. Shannon.
He retired from Reznor ITT of Mercer after working in the press room for 37 years. He also worked for nine years for ADESA Auto Auction of Mercer.
Mr. Walker formerly owned and operated a TV repair service in Mercer.
He served in the Air Force.
He was a member of the former Mercer Free Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Walker, at home; two daughters, Diane Leonetti and her husband Dennis, New Wilmington; and Amy Burk and her husband Rick, Mercer; three sons, Dewey Walker and his wife Mary Ann, Greenville; Stephen Walker and his wife Lori, Halton, Pa.; and David Walker and his wife Grace, Carson, Calif; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; one sister, Betty Uber, Grove City; and his faithful dog, Josie.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family would like to acknowledge how much they appreciated the care and concern of Dr. Lob and Heartland Hospice as well as the financial support of the Leukemia-Lymphoma Society.
Calling hours were Sunday (9-30-12) in Smith Funeral Home of Leesburg.
Funeral service was Sunday in the funeral home, with Bill Brest, family friend, officiating.
Interment in White Chapel Cemetery, Wilmington Township, Mercer County.
Memorials may be made to the Leukemia-Lymphoma Society.
