GROVE CITY — Edna Joyce Baker, 19 Orchard Drive, Apartment 214, passed away at her residence at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2012, after a brief illness. She was 84.

Mrs. Baker was born Jan. 3, 1928, in Slippery Rock to Wilbert and Eulia Michael Hockenberry.

She married Charles M. Baker on Sept. 15, 1950. He died Feb. 2, 1981.

Edna worked at G.C. Murphy in Grove City and retired in 1990 from Morco of Cochranton as a production assembler and packer for 21 years. She also worked at McKeever Environmental Educational Center in the kitchen from May 2004 to 2009.

She graduated from Slippery Rock High School in 1947 and attended Grove City College for one semester. She belonged to the Winmore Club of Cochranton. She was a member of Milledgeville Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by two sons, Dana E. Baker, Lockport, Ill.; and Marvin C. Baker and wife Deborah, Cochranton; six grandchildren and three great-granddaughters.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, an infant sister, Josephine Hockenberry, and a sister, Janet McKnight.

Calling hours were Friday (9-7-12) and will be one hour prior to service Saturday (9-8-12) at Cunningham Funeral Home, Inc., 306 Bessemer Ave., Grove City.

Funeral service at 10 a.m. today in the funeral home, with the Rev. Brian Ennis, pastor of Milledgeville Presbyterian Church, officiating.

Interment in Crestview Memorial Park, Pine Township.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Milledgeville Presbyterian Church, 1425 Carlton Road, Milledgeville, PA 16311.
