No new info on missing E. Lack Twp. man, 80

EAST LACKAWANNOCK — There is no new information on the 80-year-old East Lackawannock Township man who's been missing since July 13, state police said Tuesday.

No further searches have been scheduled as of Tuesday afternoon for Donald L. Mariacher, of 790 Perry Highway, who left his home that Friday between 11 a.m. and noon and was last seen by a neighbor walking along Perry Highway, police said.

Almost 200 volunteers combed the area and beyond this past Friday but found no signs of Mariacher, who is known to suffer from high blood pressure.

Police don't suspect foul play but have said they haven't ruled out the possibility that someone picked him up and took him elsewhere.

Several other people reported seeing him walking south on U.S. Route 19, heading toward Interstate 80.

Call state police at 724-662-6162 or 330-774-0758 with information.
