Community Day changes to Sept. 7

HARRISVILLE — Harrisville residents may have seen in the borough newsletter that Harrisville council has changed its annual Community Day from July 4 to Sept. 7 this year.

The reason behind the change is that organizers can't get much help since July 4 conflicts with family functions, vacations and other reasons.

Harmony United Presbyterian Church is looking for soft cover books in good condition and suitable for the Butler County Prison.

So if you have any autobiographies, Christian books, fiction and history, there is a collection container in the basement.

The church's community soup dinner is 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Feb. 22.

Don't forget that someone special on Thursday -- it's Valentine's Day.

The square dance is from 8 to 11 p.m. Feb. 16 at the Harrisville Fire Hall.  Refreshments will be available.

Have you seen the Penn-Gold (Ice Cream Factory) sign in front which notes stressed is desserts spelled backwards? I sure do need some! That sign says it all right there for me. I think Maryann Hughes knows the cure for stress.
