GROVE CITY —
The Grove City Area Chamber of Commerce sponsored its second annual "The Great Balls of Fall" raffle event on Oct. 8 during Grove City's annual Fall Fest.
The event was set up in Grove City Memorial Park on the hill leading to the Grove City ball fields and featured 2,000 individually-numbered golf balls, which were dropped from the back of a Grove City Borough dump truck into an obstacle course. The course was set up like a pinball machine, with obstacles including hay bales, potted plants, pumpkins and other fall items. Golf balls crossed the finish line individually to determine the place winners.
A total of $1,000 in prize money was awarded to winners, as follows:
1st --Connie Peffer, Grove City, $500
2nd --Shelly Hicks, Mercer, $250
3rd --Sandy Rodgers, Mercer, $50
4th --Tiffany Barger, Grove City, $50
5th --William Tripoli, Washington, Pa., $50
6th --Donna Siegfried, Grove City, $50
7th --Chuck Bickel, Duncansville, Pa., $50
