Fredonia's Pass It On Day is this Saturday

FREDONIA — The annual Pass It On Day in Fredonia is coming up this Saturday, May 5. This is the day that residents have yard sales throughout the town. Everyone is invited to come and see what is offered for sale.

Margie Boyd, volunteer coordinator of the monthly recycling program in Fredonia, said there is no recycling in May due to the Pass It On Day. The monthly recycling will be back June 2 and the first Saturday of each month thereafter.

The countryside between Jackson Center and Fredonia is picturesque with beautiful farmlands. Traveling through Jackson, Coolspring and Fairview townships, the beauty of spring is upon us.

On April 7, an Amish farmer was seen working his field with three large work horses. Many acres, including adjoining Lake Township, have been plowed for spring planting. It's great to know a priority in Mercer County is the nice farms.
